Almanor Recreation and Park District (ARPD) is planning three exciting events this summer to promote recreation in the Lake Almanor area and to raise funds to support our programs and events. The events include:

• Mile High 100 Bike Ride – June 15, 2024: Three routes will showcase the beauty and tranquility of Lake Almanor with amazing views of Lassen Peak. Distances are 33 miles, 68 miles and 100 miles, with routes extending into Lassen County for the metric and full century. All routes include fully-stocked rest stops, rider support, catered lunch and beverages (including a complimentary post-ride beer from Timber House Brewing). All riders will also receive a commemorative T-shirt.

• 4th of July Fun Run – July 4, 2024: A one mile run/walk starting on the Collins Pine lawn and proceeding down Chester’s historic Main Street to the finish at the Bidwell House. The event starts at 9 a.m. in advance of the famed Chester 4th of July Parade. Participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt and enjoy refreshments at the finish line.

• Lake Almanor Poker Paddle - July 20, 2024: Enjoy a wonderful morning on the water as you paddle a course, collect poker chips and compete at the finish line for cash prizes for the best poker hands. Two courses will showcase the beauty and tranquility of Lake Almanor with amazing views of Lassen Peak. Distances are 5 and 8 miles and include support boats, catered lunch, cool swag and cash prizes.
