Over 450 runners of all ages took part in the 44th annual Chester 4th of July Fun Run. The one mile run/walk began on the Collins Pine lawn and proceeded down Chester’s historic Main Street to the finish line at the historic Bidwell House. Perfect weather and lots of smiles contributed to a festive start to the annual celebration of our nation's beginnings.  

This year's commemorative T-shirt was designed by Chester Elementary student Peyton Bereznak, who received a $50 award in what has become an annual contest. Refreshments on the beautiful Bidwell House lawn were followed by the annual Craft Fair hosted by the Lake Almanor Elks Lodge at Chester Park and the 4th of July Parade down Chester Main Street, hosted by the Lake Almanor Area Chamber of Commerce.
